Saucony Flo50 Summer Training Blog: Rafaella Gibbons

Week 6 (August 10 - 15)

Winter Park girls team

This is my 6th week of training and I've added even more miles than last week. The girls and I ran really well this week with running faster times than coach gave us for workouts and getting in fast long runs. This week we also had a party for the girls team.

Monday- I warmed up for 1 mile. Then I did a 2.5 mile tempo and my time was a lot better than last week. It was even faster than the times I was running last summer! During the run I still didn't feel as relaxed as I wanted to but I'm happy I still ran a really great workout. After the tempo I cooled down for 3.5 miles and did core.

Tuesday- I ran 5 miles at a decent pace. My legs were sore and heavy from the workout yesterday. After my run I did core. Also after some runs we like to get slurpees:)

Wednesday- I ran a workout on a half mile grass loop. The workout was 1.5 miles, 1 mile, 800m, 400m. I also ran faster times than coach gave me and the times were also faster than last summer times! I felt relaxed for most of them and I didn't feel like the workout was that hard. The girls were right there with me too. I warmed up and cooled down for 1 mile.

Thursday- I ran 5 miles at a more relaxed pace the girls and I were feeling sore and tired from the past workouts. After the run I did core.

Friday- I ran 3 miles at a decent pace, it was more of a fun run where everybody ran 3 miles and we didn't follow a specific route. I did core like usual and we went to Katie Kuhn's house for a party afterwards! There was a water slide and it was a great party to get the team closer. It was so much fun 4 girls didn't leave till 4.

Saturday- I ran the full loop at Clermont which is about 10 miles. The girls and I PR'd by 3 minutes on the loop. I felt amazing during the run and even though our pace was very fast I still felt relaxed!

Total Mileage: 35 miles
