ICYMI: Blacksburg Just Won A State Record 7th Team Title in A Row!

Sometimes the mundane becomes the extraordinary. That was the case this year as the Blacksburg girls won yet another XC team title. Them winning team titles has seemingly become mundane but with this one they tied the state record for most in a row and that is certainly extraordinary. With their win Friday, they have now won a staggering and state record seven titles in a row.

Their seven ties Brentsville's record set between 1995-2001.

Now in the 4A classification, Blacksburg has now won state team titles in three different classifications in a row. They started their streak in the old AA for 2011 and 12 and then won four 3A titles between 2013-16 and this year won their first 4A team title.

Blacksburg's strongest year score wise has been 2014 and 2015 when they scored 23 but this year was one of the more impressive ones considering their competition was an extremely strong Loudoun Valley squad. Both of these teams ranked 1st and 2nd in our state meet results merge

Maybe the most impressive part of this streak though is the fact that their top runner was in 3rd grade when this streak started and as long as this goes it just gets more and more impressive.
