CARIFTA: Ja enters final day with 49 medals

Jamaica are on course to win their 29th straight title heading into today’s final day of the 2013 CARIFTA Games at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium in The Bahamas.



The Jamaicans will enter the final day with a 49 medals comprising 20 gold, 18 silver and 11 bronze.



Hosts Bahamas are in second place with 20 medals comprising four gold, eight silver and eight bronze.



Barbados hold down third place with 11 medals comprising 4 gold, five silver and two bronze.



Jamaica ended the penultimate day on a high by winning three of the four sprint relays.



The only blemish came in the Girls’ Under-20 4 by 100-metre relay as the team failed to finish.



Jamaica are trying to surpass the 78 medals won the Bermuda last year.
