St.Kitts and Nevis is a beautiful Island Paradise located in the Caribbean, which is home to thousands of people. At first when contacted about possibly participating in the annual Carifta Games, I thought of it as just another meet .... I was wrong. Accompanying me from New York were the Strunkey twins, Ariel and Arianne, along with their coach, Pete.
The first stop on our trip was Antigua. We stayed for 3 days, during which we trained and engaged in activities with the local government. The following day, we left Antigua for St.Kitts. It was a short plane ride, approximately 20 minutes from Antigua. Friday was the start of the games in which at least 25 countries participated and it was the day of my first event. I found out prior that I would be in lane 8, which came as a complete shock to me and also sparked a bit of anger but I knew I was prepared and ready.
