Race Day

I stayed focused and ran my [prelim] race and came out the winner [in 47.55]. After the race, everyone was excited and proud and were looking forward to the final the next day, knowing I would be up against great competition. On the day of the final, I was ready. I went over my race plan as I warmed up and the only thing left to do was to execute my race later that evening. I came second with a time of 46.19, a great season opener and PB. Being on this trip made me realize what and how much track and field means to the people in the Caribbean. It's more than just a sport, it's their way of life, the way they bond. Despite having to leave early the next day after the 4x4 final, which we came 4th, we all stayed up till 5am laughing, telling jokes, stories, and experiences. I really enjoyed my time in St.Kitts and the experience of competing on such a high level.

Now, on to Arcadia... !

Editor's Note: 46.19 also ranks Benjamin as the No. 1 400m runner in the United States for the 2015 outdoor track season. WATCH the race HERE.
